Building a honey processing centre from the ground up is challenging. Building a honey processing centre in Tanzania that is a social enterprise that gives back to our partner communities is a big commitment. This space is where we'll share our progress.
Education
Musa Chenga is Nzuri Honey's Business Development Coordinator in Tanzania. In April Musa attended courses and did field work with the regional beekeeping office in Morogoro. Musa learned about Honey Bee behaviour,beekeeping equipment, apiary operations, and harvesting and processing honey products.
Engaging with Beekeepers
Our desire is to have excellent honey. This means that we have to find the best beekeepers in Morogoro. Some beekeepers use more current apiary methods ,some still use traditional methods.

Testing Honey
Honey collected from beekeepers will undergo testing to ensure the quality meets our standards. We're pretty proud to report our dark honey was exceptional!
